LAS VEGAS – May 1, 2012 – Las Vegas Events announced today a national anthem performer promotion that will bring innovative fan involvement to this year’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
Three lucky singers will earn all-expense paid trips to Las Vegas for the Wrangler NFR this December. The contest requires entrants to be affiliated with a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo.
“The addition of the national anthem promotion allows us the opportunity to recognize the outstanding talents that can be found within our rodeo community,” said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events. “This exciting opportunity provides a platform for up-and-coming solo artists to showcase their singing ability to a worldwide audience.”
Three national anthem contestants, one from each rodeo size category, will be chosen to perform at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas during the Wrangler NFR. Artists must be either be nominated by a PRCA Rodeo Committee (a limit of five (5) entries will be accepted from each PRCA Rodeo committee) or enter at www.NFRexperience.com) A Las Vegas Events committee will narrow the field to the Top 12 entrants (three per rodeo size category) and those Top 12 contestant videos will be uploaded for fan voting. Fans will determine the three winners.
National anthem winners and one guest will each receive round-trip airfare to Las Vegas, two-nights hotel accommodations, name and photo listed in the WNFR official program, two tickets to the WNFR for the night of anthem performance, commemorative program and day sheet and the honor of performing the national anthem before a crowd of more than 17,000 fans.
