Clint Craig up first, on Down Time, NS, Ted Bert from Modesto up on Geetus
out of the Gunslinger line, NS, former HS champ Luke Haught from
Weatherford up on Whiskey Bent, Luke was able to stay centered, this bull
was a fast spinner but spun into Luke's riding hand, 84, Ken Callaway,
got stretched out, couldn't get right NS, Bandy Murphy out of Morgan Mill,
Texas he's a 3 event cowboy, NS, Wesley Silcox out of Payson up on
Recoil, bull almost knelt down, but jumped (powerfully) back up, Wesley
caught the rebound, 87, (Day sheets don't match the riders....oh well)
should be Jason Beck, but it's Zack Elliot on Smooth Operator 74,Sye
Jones now up on Hard Head, that was quick NS, out of Greeley, Co, Jarrod
Ford, he's a great rider, up on Road Rage, not his night NS.....Bonner
Bolton from Lubbock on Holy Roller, bull didn't get away from the chute then
stumbled NS but a reride option, Kanin Asay on Slim Slinger, that was
tough, he got caught leaning forward, 7.3 seconds NS...here's one
of the best in the world Steve Woolsey, on Wild Ride, bull brushed the gate
on his way out, almost got Steve between it and him, spinning in short
circles not much buck, 75....
Section 2
Tyler Smith up first on Little Mamou, bull never turned, just sorta ran to
the end of the arena RERIDE, Bonner Bolton up for his reride, on
Stayin Alive, Bonner didn't make it, NS,...Mike Moore from Chicago, bull
went left, Mike went right NS....Kevin Ventura on Stay Smart, NS....Cody
Hodges from Omaha, Texas on Deputy Sheriff, the law won NS...Talk about
the best in the world, 2 time world champion J.W.Harris up now on Summer
Wages, J.W. got forward, caught himself, 82.....now another good un, Clayton
Savage from Casper WY, on Phantom Tide, 86....Jesse Bail, you want
a cowboy, this is a cowboy, bull hung near the chute, then came to a stop,
50 for Jesse but a RERIDE....Chance Smart from Philly, well Philadelphia
MS, on Shark Bait, tight spins got out just enough for Chance to show what
he could do, 83...Shawn Hogg on Bear Cat, NS, Tate Stratton on Tap Out
NS...Brad Pierce on Small Package NS...Jimmy Anderson on Accubond 76...
Section 3
All the bulls in this section are Sammy Andrews bulls, so it's either going
to be great rides or NS....Tyler Johnson up first on Out Of Control and he
was, NS....Howdy Cloudy from Kountze, Texas on Bad to the Bone, NS....Sam
Wilson (great last name) from east Bernard, Texas, on Banty Rooster,NS...Matt
Austin, haven't seen Matt since 05, glad he's back, one of the best
technical riders ever, if only he could stay healthy, he's on Bruiser,
NS....Bobby Welsh, bobby's not having the best of years so far, he's a
really good rider, up on Excuse This, NS...Beau Schroeder on Sharp
Shooter, Beau got slid back on the bull, then was able to get recentered,
nice ride...83.5....Jake Wade on Body Works, Jake got sent straight over
the bulls head, then hooked and sent airborne, thank God for protective
vests....NS..Aaron Pass on Gambler, bull took long straight leaps, Aaron
couldn't hang on...NS....Shawn Proctor now up on Jim Elbows (named after
one of the true legends in our sport Jim Shoulders...)not much action but
what was there was herky-jerky, Shawn hung on for a 72...Jesse Bail back for
his reride, Hercules is the bull and he bucked straight up, stopped, bucked
again and stopped, Jesse got a 56 and another RERIDE.. Here's Tyler Smith up
for his reride on Nuts, 83.5...Clayton Williams now on Crusher, left turning
while bucking 80...Ardie Maier on Smash Box..NS, Tyler Thompson on
Sandman, NS....Clayton Foltyn out of El Campo on Sling Shot...NS...Jesse
Bail is back up for his 3rd Reride on BS...not bad, but again the bull
stopped in the middle, but when he did buck, he was pretty good, 74 for
Jesse and the option for ANOTHER RERIDE....if he declines the reride, he's
in the finals, but of course he takes it. Jesse is up on Little
Phantom for his 4th Reride, not this time NS...
I was speaking with Saddle Bronc rider Bonner Cooper about why Jesse took
the points off the board and decided to ride again, and it's simple, it's
because you ride to win....By the way Bonner is up on Wednesday here in
Austin and I'll have an interview with him then....
Finals
Only 2 cover.....Tyler Smith with a 90 on Reese's Pieces, Tyler was
stretched out like a bronc rider and J.W. Harris the bull actually
fell over and landed almost on top of J.W., he had the presence of mind to
reach over and loosen his rope while the bull was on the ground and of
course he got a RERIDE, and on the same animal, this was much better 88.5
